Your Options in the New Health Insurance Marketplace

As a part of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) that was passed in 2010, employers were required to notify all employees of their options in the new Health Insurance Marketplace (also known as Exchanges). On October 1, 2013, the District distributed a letter to all employees titled “New Health Insurance Marketplace Coverage Options and Your Health Coverage.” This notice provided detailed information about the New Health Insurance Marketplace, your options for health coverage under the new law, and basic information about the District’s current health coverage offered.

The Joint Health Management Board has provided a copy of this notice, and its corresponding Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs), for your review below. Should you have any questions regarding this notice, please contact the District Benefit Department at (559) 457 – 3520.
