About the JHMB

Our Mission

The District’s Joint Health Management Board (JHMB) continuously strives to build and maintain a cost-effective healthcare program for our employees, retirees, and their families. Through relentless reviews, difficult discussions, and meticulous operation, Labor and Management work together to provide you and your family with a health plan and wellness program to support you along your path to better health.

The Joint Health Management Board’s (JHMB) purpose is to continually:
  • Share responsibility and to build unity between the District and the participating Employee Labor Units
  • Manage and maintain the highest quality health benefits possible on behalf of Active and Retired Employees
  • Promote informed and proactive decisions regarding health benefits in the most cost-effective, innovative, and efficient manner
  • Develop and promote wellness education
  • Enable participants to become informed and responsible health care consumers

How We Will Achieve Our Mission

Collect feedback from members about how they feel their healthcare needs are being represented through JHMB.

Educate members about their insurance benefits, how to use them, and how their overall wellness is relevant.

Provide members with and direct them toward the appropriate resources for their needs.

Encourage members to be proactive in their health and well-being as they advocate for themselves in the healthcare system.

Financial Reports

Each quarter, the Joint Health Management Board (JHMB) provides a financial report to each of the employee units represented on the JHMB. This report details the income, expenditures, and financial reserves for the District’s Employee Health Plan as compared to the annual projections.

Become a WellPATH Champion

If your site is not listed, please include your location below.

I agree to represent my school/department as the Wellness Champion for this school year. I understand the outlined roles and responsibilities of the Wellness Champion and will assist in the implementation and coordination of wellness initiatives. I agree to not only support the WellPATH Employee Wellness program by my participation, but to collaborate with my local management team to support the initiatives as well. I understand that the success of the program hinges on all employees being empowered to make informed decisions that positively impact their health. The WellPATH program can count on me to be a messenger and motivator and to help gather information from my co-workers, principals and managers to help foster a culture of wellness within Fresno Unified School District that supports good health.

I also understand that I may be asked to assist in scheduling rooms and programs (including wellness screenings, seasonal influenza program) at my location, displaying WellPATH brochures, posters, etc. in appropriate areas, and encouraging my co-workers to be involved in the WellPATH Employee Wellness program.
