Introducing ClassPass: Increased, Flexible Access to Fitness & Wellness Facilities

JHMB

|

The Joint Health Management Board is dedicated to finding and providing the best possible benefits for Fresno Unified School District employees. To that end, we are thrilled to introduce an exciting new WellPATH fitness benefit for Fresno Unified School District employees: ClassPass. This innovative program replaces your current onsite group fitness classes and offers unparalleled flexibility and variety in your fitness journey.

What Is ClassPass?

ClassPass is a comprehensive fitness membership that provides access to thousands of workout classes at studios and gyms locally and around the world. Whether you prefer to work out in a studio, hit the gym, or exercise from the comfort of your own home, ClassPass has something for everyone. Search for fitness, wellness, and beauty facilities near you in your ClassPass app or on ClassPass’s website.

Who Is Eligible?

ClassPass is available to active employees, as well as non-Medicare-eligible retirees.

Medicare-eligible retirees don’t have access to the reduced prices for ClassPass, but do have access to either the SilverSneakers® program or Silver&Fit® program. View more information on these retiree benefits below.

What Are the Benefits of Activating Your ClassPass Plan?

  • In-Studio Classes: Reconnect with your favorite local gyms and studios for in-person classes.
  • Digital Classes: Enjoy a vast library of over 2,000 on-demand audio and video workouts, perfect for home fitness.
  • Flexible Membership: Choose a plan that fits your lifestyle. You can roll over unused credits, adjust your plan, or cancel anytime.

How Much Does ClassPass Cost?

ClassPass comes to you with a significantly discounted corporate rate in addition to your coverage through WellPATH. Signing up for ClassPass through your WellPATH benefits cuts the cost in half, saving you anywhere from $10 to $30 per month. The rates for ClassPass are:

  • 10 credits: $9/month
  • 21 credits: $26/month
  • 45 credits: $65/month
  • 85 credits: $126/month

Credits can be substituted for many different fitness activities, such as gym time, meditation, strength training, cycling, and prenatal yoga.

How Do You Sign Up?

  1. Visit the dedicated JHMB ClassPass signup page.
  2. Enter our company code: FUSDxCP.
  3. Follow the prompts to create your account and select a plan.
  4. Download the ClassPass app on your phone and start booking classes.

What If You Are a Medicare-eligible Retiree?

While ClassPass is not available as a benefit for Medicare-eligible retirees who are enrolled in either the Aetna® Medicare Advantage plan or Kaiser® Senior Advantage plan, members of these plans have alternative benefits.

Aetna® Medicare Advantage: SilverSneakers®

SilverSneakers® gives you access to thousands of fitness locations with many amenities, including classes of various levels. You can also attend classes and workshops throughout the week with SilverSneakers LIVE™, work out virtually, 24/7, with SilverSneakers On-Demand™, and adjust your personal workout plans with SilverSneakers GO™.

If you’re new to SilverSneakers®, follow the steps at the new account page.

Kaiser® Senior Advantage: Silver&Fit®

Silver&Fit® includes a broad network of fitness centers with amenities like pools, saunas, and whirlpools, as well as virtual and at-home workout products such as a Home Fitness Kit and personal workout plans. This benefit also offers tools to join and interact with a community with social support, as well as a rewards program for members who track their exercise and activities.

If you’re new to Silver&Fit®, head to their home page and register to start exercising.

Yes! ClassPass is a monthly membership that renews on the same day—so if you sign up on the 5th of the month, you renew and are charged every month on the 5th. If you start on one plan and decide you’d like to switch plans, reach out to the ClassPass Customer Service team  before your next cycle starts, and they will make sure you renew onto your desired plan on your next cycle start date.

You can finish your check out by going to our ClassPass page and selecting the free 30-day trial that rolls onto a membership. Or, you can reach out to the ClassPass Customer Service team and they can guide you through the process.

You can make changes to your plan or cancel by visiting your ‘Profile’ and ‘Account’ settings. You may also reach out to the ClassPass Customer Service team.

ClassPass offers tens of thousands of workout classes or activities worldwide. Workout classes include everything from high-intensity activities like boxing, rowing, and running to low-impact activities like yoga, cycling, and barre. You can also book nontraditional activities like martial arts, dance, and aerial. If you’re not interested in group classes, you can book time slots at local gyms on ClassPass as well.

Late Cancel: In-person reservations can be canceled up to 12 hours prior to start time with no charge, and the credits you used to book the reservation will be automatically returned to your account. If a cancelation takes place within 12 hours of start time, a late cancelation fee will be charged for select reservations.

Missed Reservation: If you miss an in-person reservation without canceling, the credits used to book will be automatically returned to your account. A missed reservation fee will be charged for select reservations if a cancelation is not made prior to start time.

For late cancelation and missed reservation fees, check out the fees chart here.

ClassPass is a monthly membership that automatically renews each month unless you choose to cancel it. If you decide to cancel, please note the cancelation will go into effect for the upcoming month, so you can use your credits for the current month that you have already paid for. For example, if you sign up on July 5, your plan renews and you are charged on the 5th of every month. If you decide to cancel on July 7, the cancelation will go into effect on August 5, but you will still be able to use your ClassPass plan and credits through August 4.

You can purchase more credits and they will be added immediately to your account—please allow a few minutes for processing and refresh the app or the page online if you do not see them appear.

To add credits via the ClassPass app:

  1. Click on “Add credits” at the bottom of the screen
  2. Select the number of credits you would like to purchase and click “Buy”
  3. Confirm your purchase by clicking the blue “Confirm purchase” button when presented
  4. The credit card on file for monthly routine billing will be charged as a separate expense

To add credits online:

  1. Go to classpass.com and log in.
  2. Click on your profile icon, which is located in the top right corner—this will take you to your membership details.
  3. Select “Membership” and select “Add credits.”
  4. Select the number of credits you would like to purchase and click “Buy X-credit pack.”
  5. Confirm your purchase by clicking the blue “Confirm purchase” button when presented.

No problem. You are able to roll over unused credits up to the total number of credits in your upcoming plan every month. For example, if you’re set to renew a 21-credit plan, up to 21 unused credits will roll over.

I understand that the success of the program hinges on all employees being empowered to make informed decisions that positively impact their health. The WellPATH program can count on me to be a messenger and motivator and to help gather information from my co-workers, principals and managers to help foster a culture of wellness within Fresno Unified School District that supports good health.

I also understand that I may be asked to assist in scheduling rooms and programs (including wellness screenings, seasonal influenza program) at my location, displaying WellPATH brochures, posters, etc. in appropriate areas, and encouraging my co-workers to be involved in the WellPATH Employee Wellness program.
