At the Joint Health Management Board, we believe that cost should not be a barrier to treatment. With that in mind, we want to let our Plan A/B members know that diabetes supplies, including needles, test strips, insulin, and continuous glucose monitors, are now available for a $0 copay.
While generic drugs for diabetes have been available for $0 copay, many of the supplies and insulin are branded products. Please also be aware that continuous glucose monitors can provide a better source of information for patients with diabetes than test strips.
Please note that prior authorization from the prescriber will be needed for a continuous glucose monitor to be provided. You may contact MedImpact regarding prior authorization requirements at (833) 640‑2849, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
