The Joint Health Management Board has good news for members enrolled in PPO Plan A or PPO Plan B. As of July 1, 2026, medically necessary in-network colonoscopies and associated anesthesia are now covered at 100% with no deductible.
This benefit enhancement is designed to make it easier for eligible members to receive this important preventive screening and take a proactive approach to their health.
Why This Matters
Colorectal cancer screening can save lives. Colonoscopies are one of the most effective screening tools because they can:
- Detect colorectal cancer early, when treatment is often most successful.
- Find and remove abnormal growths called polyps before they become cancer.
Adults ages 45–75 who are at average risk should receive regular colorectal cancer screening. If you have a family history of colorectal cancer or are considered high risk, your doctor may recommend beginning screenings earlier. Be sure to talk with your healthcare provider about the screening schedule that’s right for you.
With this enhanced benefit, there’s one less barrier to getting the care you need. If you’re eligible for a colonoscopy, schedule your appointment with an in-network provider and take advantage of your enhanced coverage.
